Curly Hair Routine
Don't fight your curls: work with them.
I've seen too many curls straightened, brushed out, weighed down. Three products and a few right moves, for defined, soft curls that move with you.

The signs
Sound familiar?
Frizz shows up as soon as you step outside
A little humidity and the shape is gone: an open cuticle draws water from the air.
Your curls fall flat during the day
In the morning they're defined; by the afternoon they've already lost volume and shape.
Your ends are dry and tangle easily
Detangling turns into a battle, and every pass of the comb pulls the curl apart.
Every product weighs them down
Curls need nourishment, but too much makes them go limp.
In practice
Here's how I use it
-

At every wash
The Curl Shampoo
Curls aren't scrubbed, they're caressed. Focus the shampoo on your scalp and let the lather slide over the lengths without rubbing them: rubbing opens the cuticle and causes frizz. Rinse with your head upside down, letting your fingers follow the curl.

In the shower
The Curl Hair Balm
Spread it over lengths and ends and detangle now, with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb: it's the only time curls should be combed. If your ends are very dry, rinse but leave a light layer in.

On dripping-wet hair
The Curl Serum
Apply it without towel-drying: the water helps the product spread and the curls clump together. Then don't touch them anymore. Dry with a diffuser on medium heat and, only once they're dry, separate the curls with your fingers, never with a brush.

Questions
The ones I'm asked most often
Does it work for wavy hair too?
Yes. The routine is designed for wavy and curly hair, colored hair included.
Can I use it if I color with henna?
Yes: all three products are suitable for colored hair too.
Do they contain ingredients I might be sensitive to?
The Curl Shampoo contains wheat protein and soy and lupine derivatives: if you're sensitive to these ingredients, test the product on a small area first.
Do I have to use all three products?
Each one works on its own, but together they're the complete routine: the shampoo cleanses without disturbing the curl, the balm detangles it, the serum defines it.
